BDO Solutions Ltd is demonstrating increased confidence in Oficea’s Grade A office space at Vivéa Business Park. This leading accountancy firm in the country is already a tenant at The Pod and has recently signed up for an additional 1,610 sqm at Les Fascines, the latest development by the ENL Group’s office property specialist. We spoke to their Managing Partner, Mr Yuttam Joysuree.

Why did you choose move to Moka Smart City?
We chose Moka Smart City for various strategic reasons. Our operations have grown quite significantly, especially with the pandemic, and we need to recruit massively. The relative ease of access to Moka, in the centre of the island, makes this process much more flexible. The region is thriving while giving proper consideration to the environment. This is a key factor for BDO Solutions Ltd and for many of our young team members. In addition, there is definitely better road traffic, which allows everyone to reach the office on time. The challenge will be to maintain this advantage with other expected developments around Moka Smart City and the increasing number of people relocating to the area.
What is the difference of working at Vivéa Business Park?
The environment is key at Vivéa. There is a very balanced combination of green areas and office space that fosters the development of our employees. We are away from the motorway noise and we can better work together. The area enjoys pleasant weather almost year-round and the business park is accessible to all.
In your answers, you often mention the environment. What is the importance of Les Fascines’ LEED green building certification?
It is actually important for us to work in an environment where energy efficiency is incorporated into the design. BDO Solutions Ltd in Mauritius is part of the world’s fifth largest accounting network and environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria are taken into account in our initiatives to grow our network globally. LEED certification will contribute to such initiatives.

What were the critical factors when choosing to rent office space from Oficea?
Our criteria included access to public infrastructure to facilitate the movement of our employees. We also looked at the working environment, especially the green areas and spacious offices, as well as the strategic development of a smart city whose vision matches the aspirations of young professionals. Other key factors were common area maintenance services, the activities offered to all tenants by the Oficea team and the availability of the people in charge of addressing any building-related issues.
In your opinion, what are the 5 key features of Les Fascines?
First, I would say that the structure can be adapted to the requirements of the companies that wish to move in. The futuristic concept, with a mix of green spaces and offices, also allows us to be attuned to the ESG criteria. Thirdly, we are surrounded by companies, which favours exchange between professionals working in the same sector or in other fields. There is also quick access on foot to restaurants, sports centres, shopping centres and the motorway, among others. Finally, I would also like to mention that there is plenty of parking available.
