Oficea has embraced the move to strike the balance between high-quality construction and low environmental impact and already have one LEED green certified building and ISO 50001 certified building in its portfolio.

He adds that being LEED compliant also affords the capacity to track and measure energy consumption and to compare them to the international LEED facts.

“This comparison will allow us to accurately and efficiently set objectives for energy reduction.”

LEED Neighbourhood Development Certification (LEED-ND)

LEED ND was engineered to inspire and help create better, more sustainable, well-connected neighbourhoods. It looks beyond the scale of buildings to consider entire communities.

To qualify for certification, the development site must include at least one LEED-certified building and must be in compliance with detailed specifications laid down by the United States Green Building Council, the body responsible for the development of the Charter related to the LEED certification systems.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership, LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and it can be applied to virtually all building types, providing a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-effective green buildings.

Already implemented at ENL House where Oficea’s head office is located, ISO 50001 improves operational efficiency and cost reductions in all sectors.

And, through the compulsory use of independent party auditors, energy usage reporting is generally deemed more reliable by the market.
